Algarve Weather
Southern Portugal is renowed for it’s wonderfully warm summers and mild winters, making it an ideal all-year-round holiday destination. In general, the central to eastern end of the Algarve is drier and warmer than the west due to it proximately to the Atlantic Ocean. Cloudless skies are the norm throughout the summer and August in particular can be very hot, so plenty of high factor sun lotion is strongly recommended, together with lots of fluid and frequent breaks in the shade. If you decide to spend some time on the beach, dont fooled by the cooler breeze coming off the Atlantic Ocean, this can be very deceptive and extremley easy toget burnt, also don’t forget the sun is at its hottest in the middle of the day, so use this as a perfect excuse to enjoy a lazy extended BBQ lunch.
